Hi! I am Dipayan. This is the part where I go on blabbering about myself while the readers are bored to death :P . Anyways, i'll try to keep it short and less boring! :)
I am an Electronics and communication Engineer currently doing my B.TECH from NIT DURGAPUR and believe me....this is a very good place for doing your B.TECH coz u wont have to study if u dont want to as the profs are always waiting for opportunities to bless you with as much marks as possible so that you dont show your sorry ass to them again in the following years. And, if you are the nerdy type who has taken admission in this college to learn something, well, all that i can say is u'll learn many things for sure, but your subject wont be one among them :P. Anyways, enough of boasting about my college! I'm afraid that one of the company guys dont find out about my blog coz im sure that after reading my blog, they arent going to come to our college for campussing. :P (Of course, its not like they don't know that most of the engineering colleges in India are no better,except for the IITs I guess :P).
Anyways, having said all that about us NITians, I wont really say that I dont know anything about my subject, coz u know, u can learn if you want to, but the source of knowledge isnt going to be the college...better be damn sure about that! Well, it really sucks to disclose to ya all that I am currently ranking second in my department....coz u know....being among the toppers in a college like ours reallly really really sucks! There are all kinds of people who'd be jealous of you and would try to demean you by repeatedly uttering sentences like "tui toh topper bhai...tor ki chap!" or "Tui sharadin portei thak...ar kichu hobena tor dara". There are many more one liners which would certainly burn 80% of your pubic hairs :P. However, having said that, I would also like to mention that there are a lot of friends who would also say the above one liners, but they dont mean any offence...coz all they want is to burn your pubic hairs and not offend you in any way. As a topper, you have to distinguish between the guys and gals who actually want to offend you and the ones who dont!
Talking more about a topper's life... Well, its a general notion that toppers are the ones who study 24 hours, do not eat, do not sleep and all they want in their life is "marks" :P! For people having such notions, I'd have to say that they are retards and havent yet crossed the boundary line between schools and colleges! I mean....come on guys....do u really feel that you have to study so much to get nice grades in college...where literally question papers are handed over to the students in the name of "suggestions" and the syllabus is no bigger than a science paper in fourth standard????!!! Well, for me all it took to secure cool grades is a lot of luck and sincerity during the exams (aint even talking about before the exams, which is still a nice time to take your girl friends out coz lesser colg ppl would be around as most of them would be studying :P).
Anyways, talking about cooler things...like fests! Well, one of the most important part of college life are the fests. Fests can be technological and cultural. In our college, we have many technological fests....Aarohan being the biggest of the lot! Aarohan is a very competitive fest where different colleges all around west bengal (mostly) come to participate in the various competitive events like Robotics, Gaming, Hacking, Electonic circuit design, etc. The best part about aarohan is you can win a prize even when you do not know anything about the event you are participating in....how? Well, the only requirement is that you need to have a few friends who are good at techie stuffs! All you have to do is join their team (coz each team needs at least 4 participants and my general experience has always been that at max 3 of the 4 contribute to a win) and get a share in their reward money :P!
Another fest of our college which is worth mentioning is Recstacy. This is the coolest fest for everyone who like to party and even cooler for those who like to drink coz after drinking, u would not have to be bothered or take responsibility for whatever you do :P. There are many who even pretend to be drunk to gain that advantage. Well, for those who arent really sure about those advantages, let me describe them a little more comprehensively! ;) Firstly, when you are drunk, "you dont need to be bothered about your dance steps". There are some pretty aweful dancers who'd rather not dance to avoid humiliation (Myself being one among them :P). For such folks, being drunk proves to be advantageous, coz no one will laugh at your dance steps when u r drunk coz u are supposed to have lost your coordination with brain! Secondly, when you are drunk, "you dont know what or where or whom you are touching or falling over". I'd rather not explain this point in more details coz im sure that there are going to be a substantial number of female readers of my blog and I dont want my fellow drunkard or pretend-to-be-drunkard readers to be annoyed at me for revealing their plans :P! To my female readers, you keep feeling sorry for those poor drunk bastards who fell over you coz they were "out" :P !
